Quick Start

1. Download & Install

Download Speakform and extract it to your Applications folder.

2. Grant Permissions

On first run, macOS will ask for permissions:

  • Microphone: Required for voice recording
  • Accessibility: Required for global hotkey and auto-paste

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security to grant these.

3. Start Dictating

Run the app, look for 🎤 in your menu bar, then hold Ctrl + Shift + R and speak!

Troubleshooting

Hotkey doesn't work

Make sure Accessibility permission is granted. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable Speakform.

'Process not trusted' message

This means Accessibility isn't granted. Add the app to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.

Recording fails

Check Microphone permission in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

Text doesn't paste

Accessibility permission is needed for auto-paste. Also ensure the target app accepts paste commands (Cmd+V).

Transcription is wrong

Speak clearly and at a moderate pace. Background noise can affect accuracy. Try recording in a quieter environment.
